The black salt of Hawaii as well as the black salt of Cyprus are produced in the salt marshes by the classic drying of sea water. Before tackling the drying and crystallization process, however, an element is added which gives it its typical black colour: it is vegetable charcoal.
Sea salt infused with activated charcoal adds depth and complexity to the most delicate culinary creations. Excellent with fish, seafood, meat and vegetables.
